Game 1 Feedback

Postby TimeTraveller » Tue, 09 Mar, 2010 12:06 am

Hey Guys, feel free to post any feedback (positive or negative) here. I'd like to know what you guys thought of the game and the rules and how it was all brought together so we can keep on making it better for future games :)

Glad you all had a good time at the game

i loved it but only one thing is hopefully there wont be so much combat next time. the amount wolfgangs has is good it balances combat with rp nicely.

hmm, there wasn't actually a whole lot of combat in this game, there was the undead encounter and then the large battle at the end...unless I missed some?

this one game where despite different back grounds and cultures the players managed to work together and still rp their differences, had a lot of fun with the IC interactions and misunderstandings. the calls got confused in my mind but that's more my fault than the games, (i called double instead of two for damage with my boom stick).

found the first encounter with gaspar a little clunky until he got round to explaining things to us, not a biggy, just a note.

Overall it was smooth, fun and most people stayed IC, what more can i ask for a game? :)

Yeah, the calls were rather clunky. It would help a lot to grind them down a bit, the only real problem is that there are too many calls to remember when adrenaline is pumping and there are enemies all around. I am talking about combat effect calls not the damage calls. Drain, Fire all those were fine.

I think the amount of combat was fine. It's actually less than I'm used to in Day games but that's fine. There were natural organisational problems that I could see, but that's expected from the first game. The start was great but it got a bit clunky during the visit to the human village.

Overall, I can't wait for the next game. Most of the flaws just require a few more games to smooth out.

Heh maybe think of it as a lesson in Real Life? Of course I didn't play so I shouldn't really comment.

I have heard good things, and I hope you run another game later in the year :)

Question for all players, We are going to be limiting the amount of times you may use certain abilities to help with game balance and immersion, I am wondering if you would prefer a "May use this x times per day" or a "May use this y times per combat" Obviously x will be a larger number than y. I am thinking that the value of y will most likely be 1.

This will apply to the following techniques: Armour Break, Disarm, Shield break, Crippling blow and Slam, but not apply to Mighty Blow and its derivatives. Cleave may or may not be limited, the GMs will discuss this. Berserk and Battlecry are already under such restrictions, they too will be scrutinized.

Personally I would prefer if abilities were Y times per combat. I know that I for one will have a natural tendency to keep all my abilities for the last battle only otherwise.

I'll take a tired 8 for times I can use my abilities a day. I think the only damage I took was from PCs. Stupid PCs. Never turn your back on one. Still it was interesting being the only one from my time period. And translating things between different time periods. I'm up for more combat too. I was way to conservative on my magic. Next time I'm going to have to use it every chance I get. Its probably in the rules somewhere but when and how do our magic points refresh naturaly? Would they refresh overnight in a weekend game?

Just a question Dylan what time period were you supposed to be?
we had alot from the medieval times, one from prehistory, several from the post apoc, and one from 1999 (kerry) as well as a couple of mystics.

But we were all totally confused by when your character was supposed to come from.

Dylan's character was a Modern mystic

As for Mana, hold out for the new rules which should be out in the next week or two and read through the new magic rules. It should answer your questions
